Description
Résumé:This study presents an indicator capable of measuring, continuously and periodically, the recidivism rate within the socio-educational system in the Federal District, Brazil. Data utilized were directly collected from the procedural systems of the Socio-Educational Measures Execution Court in the Federal District (VEMSE/DF). An algorithm was developed to read real-time data and calculate the rate according to the desired period. The results are showcased in 5 temporal series capturing the accumulated recidivism over 12, 24, 36, 48, and 60 months, with rates appearing to align with some previously published similar studies. Additionally, a Mann-Whitney test was conducted to explore differences in the rates post-quarantine. The results show an increase in the average recidivism rate within 12 months post the quarantine period. These findings are discussed concerning their theoretical and practical implications, particularly emphasizing their potential contribution to managing socio-educational policy in the Federal District.   Keywords: Juvenile Recidivism.
